Working In Partnership With Our Community

With changing law enforcement needs since 9/11, and the influx of school violence, Police Officers are forced to be prepared for a wide range of critical situations at a moments notice. In the past, Officers shared cruisers and were forced to store emergency equipment in limited storage space at the office.

When situations occurred, Officers were forced to return to the office and retrieve this equipment, sometimes passing the site of the emergency. Therefore, approximately two years ago, with these situations in mind, the Keyser Police Department initiated a take home cruiser policy for it's Officers. At that time the markings on our crusiers were unique to our department. Since then, other agencies have adopted similar paint and striping which makes the cars appear similar.

In an effort to make our cars unique to this department in appearance, and let the Keyser residents readily identify the City's cruisers, we have updated our crusier color and striping scheme. With the cooperative effort of the Instructor and Students from Mineral County Technical Center's Auto Body Class and Rob's Body Shop, we have accomplished this at minimal cost.

The Keyser Police Department and the City of Keyser wish to acknowledge both for their assistance and are very pleased with the new look of the crusiers.
